Ardley Quarry - World Class Dinosaur Footprints Site
Ardley quarry is host to one of the worlds largest expanse of dinosaur footprints. During the Jurassic period dinosaurs including Megalosaurus and Sauropods roamed this area of the country. Today, following excavation of the upper rock, the footprints are clearly visible. |

The Farringdon Earth Heritage Project - Coxwell Pit
Designated a RIGS site in 2001 under the following criteria; Scientific, Historic, and Education value. The site is a disused sand and gravel quarry that forms part of a triplet of Sites of Special Scientific Interest in the area. |
